UX – User experience design (UXD or UED) is the process of enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty by improving the usability, ease of use, and pleasure provided in the interaction between the customer and the product.
A good website is the bread and butter of clinching online sales. We’ve all had the unfortunate experiences where we have been searching for information or to make a purchase only to be stuck in a clunky website, images are slow to load, and payment details or downloads just don’t work. Or, perhaps you’ve read a brilliant article on a blog, and when you’ve headed back at a later date, there isn’t a search bar to help you find what you’re looking for.
So what basic things can you ask a web design company (check out www.vistacomm.com) to implement when building your site?
Think about how you use a website, what made it enjoyable?
Clean
A clean and straightforward layout is usually best. While there is nothing wrong with a few flashy graphics and gorgeous fonts – the cleaner your website is the better use people will have of it. Steer clear of clashy colors and pop-up boxes that cover essential things like the menu.
Easy
Finding the menu should be easy. Finding the search bar and using it should be easy. Making a purchase or using the contact form – you guessed it! Should be nice and easy. When a website is simple to navigate and to make a transaction is super swift your users are going to have a hear experience and come back again.
Special Offers
Many online shoppers will browse a website multiple times before committing to a purchase. You can help them to make the decision by having a well-timed ‘exit behavior’ discount and signup pop up. The sign-up email and follow up email chain will gently encourage the already hot lead to head back and complete the purchase. This is a fine art to get right, so you’ll need to study buyers behavior and work with a good website builder.
Responsive Design
Your website should be just as smooth on mobile as is it is on any size computer screen.
“On Cyber Monday (7.9 billion in online revenue in 2018) 54% of visitors came from mobile devices, while around 30% purchases on their mobile device”. If your site just doesn’t run smoothly on mobiles or tablets, you need to address that as soon as you can.
Information
Who you are and what you do should be easy to find, and easy to get to. If you are running a company, you should talk about what you do and why. Copy doesn’t have to be dull, it can be great to read, hold attention AND get all of the essentials across. If someone has visited your website directly, then they want information, so don’t skip out on having prices in plan view. Products on most retail sites will have an amount next to it if you supply services then you should make sure that the pricing is transparent.
A well-designed website, supplying great services or goods will have people coming back time and again.
