On a human level, outsourcing becomes one of those key components that divide opinion. From your perspective, as the person who is running a company, you need the best person for the job, regardless of who it is. While the negatives on the factory floor could result in various internal mutinies and walkouts, but if you lose an employee over this, give thought to whether you needed this person in the first place. This may sound quite harsh, but it’s one of those thick skin approaches you have to develop. It’s business, not personal. And while you may be taking away with one hand, you are giving with me other. You are providing work for others, and it’s these people who will benefit your business more. If you don’t have the skills in-house, you can outsource to a managed IT services company that has the technical know-how. And this is more than worth it from your perspective as it’s distributing your resources appropriately.

Yes, outsourcing is viewed as one of those things that take away work from the locals. On the face of it, outsourcing is one of those things that is killing modern business. However, you look at the way businesses are going, and have been over the last few years, and pretty much every single one that struggled to get established in that time period ended up outsourcing. Do you view outsourcing as something necessary in the short term? It’s not bad for your company, and it can be very good in the long run. But there are many people that are overly critical of outsourcing, and it’s these people that can put a damper on things. Because we struggle in a financial sense, we’ve got to find the cheapest option so we can get over these difficult humps. And when you look at it from this very necessary perspective, when beggars can’t be choosers, outsourcing takes pride of place in the entire business process.
