How To Know What To Outsource In Your Business Business / Startups

When it comes to outsourcing in business, many business owners struggle with feeling overwhelmed when it comes to knowing what exactly they should be outsourcing, so in this post we’re going to share with you how to know what to outsource in your business so that you can start to get some freedom back in your business and focus on the tasks that you know are actually within your zone of genius and that are actually going to grow your business.

Things that you’re not good at:

The very first priority that you should have for outsourcing tasks in your business is focusing on the ones that you’re simply not good at.

It’s a simple fact of life that everyone cannot be good at everything and that’s actually a good thing because given the fact that we only have 24 hours in a day it’s important that we spend our time wisely and to the best of our ability. Therefore, if you’re not great at the technical side of your business then you may want to consider outsourcing to a company that offers Managed IT Services or website updates, or anything of a technical nature that you’re not able to do.

Things you don’t enjoy:

As much as you may love your business, there are always going to be aspects of your business that you simply don’t enjoy doing. For example, you may not enjoy creating graphics, or you may not enjoy posting on social media, or you may not enjoy anything related to content creation. Whatever it is in your business that you don’t enjoy, there are no rules to say that you have to enjoy these things to be good at your business, but in order for you to grow your business and spend your time in the right areas then you should be honest about the things that you don’t enjoy and hire those out to someone who does enjoy them – especially if these are things that despite you not enjoying them are actually crucial elements of your business.

Things that are not direct money-making tasks:

As with all businesses, there are certain things that are directly related to the ability to generate revenue in your business, whilst other things are not directly related to revenue generation. Although there are aspects of your business, for example admin tasks and replying to emails that may not be directly related to revenue generation, but they are crucial parts of your business, so these are things that you should outsource.

The other good reason for outsourcing these things is that as well as the fact they won’t be generating revenue, they’re also not things that are a good use of your time if you’re spending longer doing them than the money that you would make in return. For example, if you spend 2 hours on admin tasks where you could be focusing on tasks that would make you money and you outsource this to someone who would do in a fraction of the time, then you’re actually making money instead of wasting money.
