“If you want to do something new, you have to stop doing something old.” – Peter Drucker
As in life, also in business.
There is only a limited amount of time, energy and resources available to you at any given moment.
We like to cling to an illusion that we can have it all. But we can’t. The sooner we realise and accept that truth, the better.
You can have the life you want.
But you need to realise that there are sacrifices you are going to need to make to pursue that life.
Give up the old to pursue the new.
We cling to what we know.
We cling to familiar processes.
We cling to familiar people.
We hold onto what we think is working in fear of what we do not know, and all the while we admire those who are jumping ship to seek out new adventures.
Sacrifices must be made.
Let go of what no longer serves you.
Listen to your inner voice, not the crowds around you.
Drown out the noise with a new found purpose.
Sacrifice and resolution.
Strong resolve to pursue the new is what is needed.
Steadfast resolve that continues to drive you in a forward motion.
Don’t try to rationalise your actions.
Carving a new path rarely makes sense to the comfortable mind.
