Hands typing on a laptop Work

Business owners across the world, will all be in unison, scratching their chins. They are all in the same boat, wondering how they can get their employees to return to the office. They have to admit that not all of them will want to come back. Some of them will be rather reluctant and they will question you as to why they simply cannot continue remote working. Okay, for some of them, it will become the norm. However, for a great deal of them it will not. Yet, you cannot expect them to accept the previous standards of office work anymore. They want to be better cared for with better standards of working.

More space

It’s clear that some kind of remnants of social distancing will linger on long after the pandemic has been solved. So we recommend that you consider, implementing more space in your office. Part the desks a little further than usual. Don’t have employees sitting any closer than 1 meter from each other. This will have many good effects.

  • More privacy. A little more privacy goes a long way and having some personal space like this, would be great.
  • Better air circulation. There’s no denying that more space creates far better space for the air to move around the room.
  • More natural light. With less to impede the sunlight coming in through the windows, a happier brighter environment can flourish.

Climate control

Pretty soon we’ll be in the thrall of spring and then summer. Now is the time to start thinking about the trials and tribulations that spring weather can bring. For one thing, there will be more pollen and more humidity. This can clog and falter your air conditioning unit, which can then cause employees to feel hot and bothered. At least nowadays, you have 24-hour HVAC Repair which you can call upon. They’ll arrive on the scene within 30 minutes and they can get to work. They have 99% of parts that are fitted into all the modern and slightly older air conditioning units so they have a high chance of a quick repair job. Never underestimate how important it is to keep employees cool while the searing sun outside is cooking the sidewalk.

More personalization

It cannot be stated highly enough, but you need to allow employees to decorate their desks and office space how they like. It’s important to allow employees to feel more at home, surrounded by things they take inspiration from. So allow employees, within reason, to put up posters or photos of the things they like. It could be a landscape painting or perhaps a musician they follow. Try to keep it friendly, as in not political, and remain consistent. Don’t say one thing is not allowed but then allow a similar thing to be fine.

Returning to the office will be a challenge every business, large or small, will need to face head-on. These are just some of the things you should start doing but there are a whole lot more to consider.
